WEEK 33 Period : 127 Class: 3A,3B,3C Tuesday, May 6th 2024 UNIT 19: OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES Lesson 2(4.5.6) I. Objectives. - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - listen to and understand four communicative contexts in which pupils ask and answer questions about what someone is doing outdoors; - read and complete four target sentence patterns in four sentences and dialogues with the help of picture cues. - listen to and repeat target words about outdoor activities. 2. Skills: listening , reading and writing. 3. Attitudes/ Quality: - Confident - Ask and answer the question about outdoor activities. 4. Forming competence: - Self-study - Co-operation II. Methods: - Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities. III. Preparation. - Student’s book Page 61 - Website sachmem.vn - Flashcards/pictures and posters ,Computer, IV. Procedure * Warm up. Game: Miming game! - Divide the class into two groups. - Have pupils in each group choose a picture and do the action. - The other group that guesses correctly wins a star. - After three or four rounds, the group with more stars is the winner. - Give point to the groups and encourage them. Activity 4. Listen and number. - Draw pupils’ attention to the pictures. Elicit the characters and their outdoor activities. - Play the recording for pupils to listen. Play the recording again so that pupils can do the task. Play the recording a third time to give pupils another listening opportunity. - Check answers together as a class. Play the recording again for the pupils to double- check their answers and correct their answers in pairs. Key: 1. d 2. a 3. b 4. c Activity 5. Look, complete and read. - Have pupils look at the pictures. Have them identify the characters and their actions in the pictures. - Have pupils look at the two incomplete sentences and two incomplete dialogues. Draw their attention to the missing words in the sentences. - Model with Picture 1. Have pupils look at the first sentence. Ask them what word is missing in the gap (cycling). Then have them complete the sentence (She’s cycling.). - Follow the same procedure with Pictures 2, 3 and 4. Draw the pupils' attention to the gaps in the sentences in Pictures 2, 3 and 4. - Have pupils complete the sentences individually and ask a few pairs to read them aloud. Write Whispering game on the board. - Divide the class into two teams and have both teams line up in front of the board. -Whisper a word or sentence about outdoor activities (e.g. skating) to the first member of each team. - Have the first pupils go to the end of their teams’ lines and replay the game until every pupil has had a chance to go first. - At the end of the game, the team with the most points wins. Activity 7: Wrap-up and Assignments. -Practice writing. - Remind students to do exercises in the workbook Unit 19. Period: 128 Class: 3A,3B, 3C Tuesday, May 6th 2024 UNIT 19: OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES Lesson 3(1.2.3) I.Objectives. By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to . 1. Knowledge: - correctly repeat the sounds of the consonant clusters pl and fl in isolation, in the words play and fly, and in the sentences She’s playing volleyball. - identify the target words playing and flying while listening - say the chant with the correct rhythm and pronunciation. 2. Skills: Listening, reading and speaking. 3. Attitudes/ Quality: - Confident - Ask and answer the question about outdoor activities. 4. Forming competence: - Self-study - Co-operation II. Methods: - Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities. III. Preparation. - Student’s book Page 62 - Website sachmem.vn - Flash cards/pictures and posters. - Computer, TV IV. Procedure *Warm-up. - Call ss to write words about outdoor activities on the board. Activity 1. Listen and repeat. - Draw pupils’ attention to the consonant cluster pl, the word play and the sentence She’s playing volleyball. -Play the recording and encourage them to point to the consonant cluster / word / sentence while listening. - Play the recording again and encourage pupils to listen and repeat. Do this several times until pupils feel confident. - Repeat Steps 1 and 2 for the consonant cluster fl. Activity 2. Listen and circle. - Draw pupils’ attention to the sentences and the gap-fill options (a, b). - Play the recording for pupils to listen. - Play the recording again for pupils to listen and circle the correct options. - Tell pupils to swap books with a partner, then check the answers together as a class. Write the correct answers on the board. - Tell pupils to return the books to their partners. Play the recording again for pupils to double-check their answers. Key: 1. c 2. b Activity 3. Let’s chant. - Draw pupils’ attention to the lyrics of the chant. Model them line by line for pupils to repeat. - Play the recording all the way through so that pupils can listen to the whole chant. Encourage them to listen carefully to the rhythm and pronunciation. - Play the recording line by line for pupils to listen and repeat. - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to say the chant. Activity 4: Wrap-up and Assignments. - Review the words and sentences. - Do exercise Unit19 in workbook. Knowledge: - understand and correctly repeat the sentences in two communicative contexts (pictures) to ask and answer questions about what animals someone can see at the zoo - correctly use What can you see? – I can see ______. to ask and answer questions about what animals someone can see at the zoo 2. Skills: Listening, reading and speaking. 3. Attitudes/ Quality: - Confident - Ask and answer the question about activities at the zoo. 4. Forming competence: - Self-study - Co-operation II. Methods: - Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities. III. Preparation. - Student’s book Page 64 - Website sachmem.vn - Flash cards/ pictures and posters IV. Procedures. *Warm up. Sing a YouTube song about animals at the zoo. Link: Activity 1. Look, listen and repeat. - Have pupils look at Context a. - Ask them some questions such as Who are they? Where are they? What is Mai doing?Explain the meaning of the question and the answer. Check comprehension. - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen. Then let pupils listen and do choral and individual repetition, sentence by sentence. - Repeat Step 1 and 2 for Context b. Draw their attention to the question What can you see? and the answer I can see a tiger. -Invite a few pairs to listen to the recording, to point at the characters and say the language in front of the class. Activity 2. Listen, point and say. - Have pupils look at Pictures a, b, c and d and elicit the names of the animals. Have the class listen to the recording and repeat the words a few times in chorus and individually. - Model by getting pupils to point at the question in the first bubble “What can you see?” to listen to the recording and repeat a few times. Then let them point at Picture a, elicit the pupils to say the missing words (e.g. a tiger). - Repeat Step 2 for Pictures b, c, d by letting one pupil ask the question and the other answer about what an animal he / she can see at the zoo. - Invite a few pairs to point at the pictures and ask and answer questions about animals in front of the class. Activity 3. Let’s talk. - Have pupils look at the picture and elicit them to say the names of the animals. Check comprehension. Encourage pupils to point at each animal and say what they can see (e.g. I can see a tiger.) - Model by getting pupils to listen to and repeat the question in the first bubble What can you see? Then ask them to point at one animal (e.g. a peacock) and answer I can see a peacock. - Give the pupils time to practise asking and answering the questions in pairs. - Invite a few pairs to practise asking and answering the questions in front of the class. Game: Animal sounds Ask pupils to listen to the sound carefully, then guess the animal’s name. Teacher: What do you hear? Pupils: It’s a ______ Activity 4: Wrap-up and Assignments. - Practice talking. - Do exercise Unit 20.
